End customer insurance communications

Anyone who uses, even occasionally, methane gas or other types of gas supplied via urban distribution networks or transport networks automatically benefits from insurance coverage against gas accidents, pursuant to resolution 167/2020/R/gas of the Regulatory Authority for Energy, Networks and the Environment (ARERA).

The insurance coverage is valid throughout the national territory; excluded from it are:
to. end customers of methane gas other than domestic or domestic condominium customers (public service points and other uses) equipped with a meter of a class higher than G25 (the class of the meter is indicated on the bill);
b. consumers of methane gas for transport;

The guarantees provided concern: civil liability towards third parties, fires and accidents, which originate in the systems and appliances downstream of the gas redelivery point (downstream of the meter). The insurance is stipulated by the CIG (Italian Gas Committee) on behalf of end customers.

Furthermore, information on gas accident claims reported to the toll-free number 800.929.286 can be requested from the Italian Gas Committee (CIG).

The CIG toll-free number is active from Monday to Friday from 9.00 to 12.00 and from 14.00 to 16.00.
The service is suspended in certain periods of the year, generally coinciding with holidays or holidays.

The insurance of civil gas end customers is valid from 1 January 2021 until 31 December 2024 as per ARERA resolution 167/2020/R/gas.
